Writing Across the Curriculum Rankings
OK, how cool is this? The writing-across-the-curriculum program I helped direct has made the top-ten list of U.S. News and World Report’s rankings of the best colleges of 2008! In the section on “Writing in the Disciplines,” Wisconsin-Madison is listed among the best schools that integrate writing into its general curriculum. I was assistant director of this program for three years during my PhD work in the English department. I had the privilege of working with and learning from one of the best mentors I’ve ever had, Dr. Brad Hughes, who taught me about being a professional and being a friend. I can’t list the number of things I learned from my work on WAC at UW, but I do know that I use those skills just about every single day on the job now.
Anyhow, special recognition goes to Brad and all of the dozens and dozens of faculty who helped us earn this status.

That is great Alice! congrats!
